40 weeks!!! Last weekly update.

40 weeks: The average newborn weighs about 7 1/2 pounds (a small pumpkin) and is about 20 inches long. The biggest part of your baby's body is her head, but her still-pliable skull will give it the flexibility necessary to squeeze through the birth canal. Many parents are surprised by how long and sharp their newborn's nails are from the get-go. Clipping them right away (ask a nurse for help) can prevent your baby from scratching her face.

After months of anticipation, your due date rolls around, and... you're still pregnant. It's a frustrating, but common, situation in which to find yourself. Fetal heart rate monitoring (called a nonstress test or NST) will generally be done. Your practitioner will also check your cervix to see if it's "ripening." Its position, how soft it is, how effaced (thinned out) it is, and how dilated (open) it is can all affect when and how your labor is induced. If you don't go into labor on your own, you'll be induced, usually sometime between 41 and 42 weeks.

I had my last appointment yesterday, they wanted to do a non stress test to make sure William is ok in there for another week, It took about a half hour and all went fine. It was fun watching his heart rate and the changes it would make as he squirmed around or stood still. Then I waited for a bit and went in to my regular check in, she did an ultrasound to make sure he was still head down and check all over to make sure my animoic fluid levels were ok. I was almost hoping they weren't ok so we could get this show on the road but I know the fact that he is healthy is good. She checked me and I am still only 1 cm dilated and still only about 50%, she even described the inside of my cervix as hard (which is NOT what you want) I was so let down I wanted to cry. I was hoping even if I had to get induced that there would be a little progress, to make the labor go quicker, so I knew that all these cramps and backaches were doing something and just for my own peace of mind.... but nope, still the exact same.
I got dressed and went to schedule my induction, I knew it would be Monday the 4th because that is when my doctor is on call next. I got 5th in line for that morning, that means there are four people ahead of me that will get calls to come in before I do, and depending on how many people go into labor naturally (how busy they are and how many beds are filled in labor and delivery) I could not get called.... I asked if I can go in Sunday night, or in the middle of the night or anything, no dice, I just have to sit and wait for my call. I guess we will see what happens but if they dont call early I might ahve Luke go to work why waste ANOTHER one of his days.
I couldn't help it, I called Luke when I left and just broke down, not only was I disappointed about no progress, I am not even guaranteed a spot for Monday morning, I am super uncomfortable, and I have the fear of a long drawn out labor if I go in and I am STILL the same.
I am doing better dealing with it, it will all work out one way or another and he will get here, Luke will have to use lots of vacation since we will go in on a Monday, but ohh well there is nothing I can do... Luke has been fighting a little cold and looks like I caught it. I was up ALL last night with a runny/stuffy nose, sore throat, and just plain achy and miserable. In a way it is a blessing because now I can fight this and get better and be 100% for labor and for when my little newborn is here, how bad would it be if I were sick when he came!

SO I am at home today trying to rest and drink fluids etc... and for the rest of the week and weekend going to have to think of everything I can to keep my mind off Monday, any suggestions?

Due Today!

Yes my friends today is my actual due date: Sept 27th 2010

No baby or signs of a baby yet, but trying to have high hopes that he will come this week to meet us! I've had pretty bad back pain this morning so of course that has my hopes up, and I have read two emails today that made me cry (happily) But I am normally emotional so that is nothing new...

William, I love you, I know you are super comfy, warm, and content inside lovely mommy but this world has so many great people dying to meet you and so much in store for you, you should really come out soon and start to check it out! But if not and you get "evicted" next Monday, that is okay too, whatever you think is best little buddy.

A co worker told me today (yes I am at work, why not ;) that if I have him Friday his birthday will be 10-1-10, that would be cool... but there are also other reasons I would like to avoid Friday if possible... but actually any day you want William, just pick it and come on out, ohh and try to not hurt mommy or take too long to come in the process!

When a baby is late guesses and "suggestions" definitely start happening. Here is what some people wanted your birthday to be:
Daddy says it will be 9-28 Mommy says 9-30
Uncle Pearson says it will be 9-31 (this is why we love uncle Pearson, because there is no 9-31) Aunt Crystal says it will be 10-4
Grandma wants it to be SOON, Grandpa wants it to be 27th 28th or 29th, OR the 4th
Gi Gi wants it to be 28th or 29th
Aunt Angie wanted it to be last week
Grandpa Wilson wants it to be 27th,28th, or 2nd, or 3rd Grandma Wilson wants it to be the 4th
Aunt Meghan wants it to be the 29th
Aunt Kristen wanted it to be last week

Going to the doctor today for a check in and non stress test so will update tomorrow!

Happy Due Date to me and my little boy, I've very much enjoyed the last 9 months!

My little love....

William, your cousin Bennett loves you so much and cant wait to meet you! When we were visiting with Bennett the other night Crystal wanted to get a couple pics while the belly is still around, it was so funny right as I lifted my shirt Bennett was amazed and kept looking and touching the belly! She posted HERE, I look up to my sister so much, I always have. She is such a great mommy, goes above and beyond to make sure Bennett is always happy, healthy, learning, and laughing... Crystal sorry in advance for the endless phone calls and emails you will receive from me asking questions!

I became blogger buddies with some girls who were due around my due date, and 3 of them just had their babies, there dropping like flies!
Congrats to all, love seeing the pics and hearing the stories!!!!

Home...with TMI.

I know this will be much different when there is (more) lack of sleep and a little one around to care for, but today I took my husbands advice and took a much needed day off. Besides going out of town and things this is probably the first day I took for myself the whole pregnancy. Yes it was nice to not get ready early this morning, and yes I took some naps but I have to say I am pulling my hair out, Luke will get home in about a half hour and I have been watching the clock for the past hour.
I worked from home for a bit in the morning and afternoon, took two naps, vacuumed, watched some shows and read my weekly trash OK. It was nice to have a "me" day and last night and this morning I was just feeling "off" so I am sure it was good for us, but seriously I am going to have to plan some major play, coffee, lunch, shopping dates while on leave!
I decided I should shower today, contemplated not but thought that might scare Luke as to what his wife is going to become at home all the time. As I was getting in the shower I noticed something a little different and it seems that I lost my mucus plug, I already had a call into my doctor about some other things so when she called back I mentioned this and she said it could mean soon but still could mean a week or so, so not too exciting but I guess good that things are moving down and in the right direction if you get my drift!

I bounced on my ball for a while and did some pelvis tilts but seems things are calm on the home front as usual.

39 weeks

39 weeks: Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.

At each of your now-weekly visits, your caregiver will do an abdominal exam to check your baby's growth and position. Also an internal exam to see whether your cervix has started ripening: effacing (thinning out), and dilating. But even armed with this information, there's still no way for your caregiver to predict exactly when your baby is coming. If you don't go into labor on your own, most practitioners will induce labor when you're between one and two weeks overdue.

At my 39 week appointment I am still 1 cm dilated and about 50% effaced, this is all good. We talked and decided to give William till October 4th to come out on his own, otherwise were coming in to get him! I also decided to have the doctor do a procedure to strip my membranes, sometimes this will help bring on labor, if it works it will work within 24-48 hours, here's to hoping! If he doesn't come this week I go back to the doctor Monday the 27th (my official due date) for a non stress test to make sure baby is ok in there another week and another exam, I could also have her do the membranes again on Monday.
I am happy with all of these things, as bad as I want to meet William I know it will be best if he decides his birthday on his own.
I am going to work the rest of the week and see how everything wraps up to decide if I will work next week or not. If I don't it would be great to rest, clean, and get ready, but I also might drive myself nuts waiting at home. I am always busy and a big multitasker not sure quite what I would do with myself!

I'll miss you bump!

I have loved lots of pregnancy, feeling the kicks, the extra attention, the food cravings you get to give into without feeling guilty... But we are ready to meet you!
According to the poll most of you think baby Will will come on October fourth (probably the latest induction date) Thanks a lot guys... here's to hoping your wrong! ;) I know I have the odds against me being a first time mommy, and with my family's track record, but a girl can hope right!

Last weekend?

Well I am due one week from today so this very well could of been our last weekend, or we could have two more, only time will tell! Luke with his friends, the guys he played with while we were in college.
Alumni guys 2010

My All Star.
Luke had his Fontbonne alumni baseball game Saturday, hard to believe that next year at this game we will have an almost one year old little boy running around!

After the game we freshened up and went out to meet The "other" Wilson's for some dinner! Luke went to high school with momma Wilson and now she lives in Louisiana with her family, they are in town for a week to celebrate their ten year reunion next weekend, it was great to see them and get to catch up for a while, and squeeze the cutie patotie Jackson!

Sunday Luke had big plans to get up early and go play golf, he was super excited about it, but when we woke up to the same HUGE thunderstorm we went to sleep with our Sunday immediately turned lazy! We did somethings we never do, ate breakfast and watched tv in bed, then made our way to the couch for some more tv and morning naps, it was great and I have no idea when we will be able to be that lazy again!

We finally got up (peeled ourselves off the couch) and made our way to see Bennett for a while, he is getting bigger by the day and doing so many new things every time I see him. I was very impressed with his fork eating skills, and some of the words he says so clearly!

Being silly with Uncle Luke on the couch. .

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and a happy Monday(quite possibly my last Monday of work for a while!!)

Time for dinner!

I've heard one great way to prepare for your new life with your little one is to make ahead some meals and freeze them for your first few weeks. I think this is a great idea, since who knows when I will make it to the store much less feel like cooking anything or be on the same eating schedule as Luke!

While searching for some recipes I stumbled upon TIME FOR DINNER and started looking into it. Basically they have set meals for each month so you pick 6,12, whatever, you like and sign up. It seemed like something fun to try and my friend Meghan is always up for cooking, making life easier, and fun new things. So Monday night we met there, had our "orders" placed and got to it!
We decided to split 12 meals, doing this we could make our own of some and split others, she picked some and so did I.
What we ended up with was:

2 Apple Butter BBQ Pork
1 Breakfast Burritos
1 Chicken Chardonnay
2 Garlic Cheddar Chicken Bites
2 Meatball Subs1.0 Party Pork Tenderloin
1 Pork Asado with Chimichurri Sauce
2 Spinach Artichoke Ravioli

All the ingredients and instructions are ready for you and pre measured out etc... They provide the disposable dishes (so no dishes at home the night you make it), clean up (they said we would get in trouble if we tried to clean up!), and labels with ALL the info you could need! Meghan and I had a really good time doing it and ended up with lots of easy snacks, lunches, and dinners for our families, everything is also pretty nutritious and comes with a nutrition label you put on your dish as well as cooking instructions, and side/pairing suggestions.
They also have a special baby promotion, 3 times after the birth of your baby you can buy meals and they will prepare them all for you at no charge (there is usually an extra cost for this) so all you have to do is have a friend pick them up and you have your meals all ready! The October Menu looks really yummy so we might have to do this!
So far Meghan has tried the Party Pork Tenderloin, she actually took it to her mother in laws for dinner and it turned out great! Luke has tried the breakfast burritos and he loves them, so easy for him to pop one out of the freezer and into the microwave before he leaves for work.
I have been meaning to take a picture of our extra freezer downstairs for you for this post but keep forgetting.

Just the two of us...

Luke and I have been dating since my freshman and his Junior year of college, around May 2003. Since then we have had too many up's and down's to count, lots of fun times shared, lots of different addresses and different occupations, but shared one thing, a strong love for each other.
Soon it will not be "just the two of us" anymore, we wont just pack up and leave for a weekend, we wont decide late in the afternoon to go to a Cards game because I had extra tickets at work, and I am thinking that second...achemm third glass of wine, just because... maybe be a thing of the past.
BUT, words cannot even begin to express how excited and thrilled we are for it to be the THREE of us! I have wanted to by a mommy ever since I can remember. When I was little if I wasn't found playing house with my baby dolls something was wrong. Here is a little look back on some memories before we start this next amazing chapter of our lives.
I love you Luke. I fell in love with you, then you made me the happiest girl on earth when you asked me to be your wife. I will never forget our wedding day and how incredibly happy we both were. Now you gave me the greatest gift I could ask for, to be a mommy, here's to the next chapter.

This is as far back as I can go on my shutterfly account, yes Luke and I dated PRE digital camera days.... makes me feel old! 2006 Cards play off game before we won the world series!
2007 Joey and Lindsey wedding at the Lake, They just welcomed their first son Burke into the world. Okay, so this must be right after the 4 wheeler accident where I broke my arm/shoulder, I can tell by the boney neck and short hair.
2007 (i think) Luke left for 5 months and went on a fishing tour with Berkly promoting products, I flew in to see him ONCE for my birthday, it was a long five months!
Before he left I threw him a little good bye party at Helen Fitzgeralds.
New Years 2007 (i think) at D. Dooleys
2006, man, on one hand I miss the days of going out all the time on the other I don't... here we are at Broadway Oyster bar a popular hangout for us.
Okay, I know I know, it wasn't exactly ever just the two of us ;)
Parasailing 2007 Mexico: day after he POPPED the question
He couldnt get the words out and I couldnt get the word Yes out...

3rd to last weekend?

Things are coming to an end, meaning they will just not be the same soon. It will be better of course because we will have a handsome little man to share this beautiful world with, however even the smallest of things will be different. We will have to have a plan and pack way more every time we leave the house, or we will have to have a sitter, or we will have to plan around nap and eating schedules. I am fully aware of all of these things which is why I am trying to make the most out of these last few weeks. I am still working, if not I would be sitting at home driving myself nuts, still making it to lots of events, and trying to get in as much "fun" time as possible!
Saturday we drove out to Columbia for my friend Ashley's surprise birthday party, she was so shocked and I wouldn't of missed seeing her face as she walked in the door! Priceless! Ashley makes so many trips from KC to STL to see me, Luke, and our friends here. She always goes above and beyond for me and she truly puts meaning to the word friend.
Ashley's closest friends, what a special memory for her!

We got home late Saturday night but still made it to church Sunday morning, then off to meet some friends to go to the Rams home opener. We went with our friends Collen and Ross who are also expecting their first baby at the beginning of 2011! They boys had a great time and the girls got a lot of talking in, ha! With traffic after the game it was another late evening and needless to say we were exhausted... hate how fast Mondays come BUT, Two more weekends max!

38 Weeks and TMI!

38 weeks: Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old.

For many women, the next couple of weeks are a waiting game. Use this time to prepare your baby's nursery or to take care of necessary tasks you may not get around to for a while after your baby's born. Take naps, catch up on your reading, and spend uninterrupted time with your partner while you can.

Ha, yeah right! naps, catch up on reading... who are these people? I am definitely hanging in there and doing OKAY, but I am so ready to meet this little guy, and being the "planner" that I am it is getting harder and harder not knowing when this will take place. I think it is funny when people warn you about how tired you will be and how hard it will be being up all night. I am sure it will be extremely difficult, however, I don't sleep much now and I work all day. At least I can nap and relax when he is here, and all the not sleeping will be for a reason, not me just staring, thinking, and waiting...

I went to the doctor yesterday and we seem to have a little progress, head has dropped down a bit and that has started dilation! She said one fingertip. My weight has stayed the same at the past couple visits but at this one I was up a pound, also on a different scale than normal so who knows.
At my next appt next Tuesday we will know my induction date based on her night on call, and if I want at this appointment she will also strip my membranes which is one somewhat natural way of helping move along labor.
Last night when I got home I think I had my "bloody show!" I was so excited about this, and I am pretty sure Luke thinks I am crazy, but this is just one of the many things that happens preceding labor!
Should be an exciting next two weeks!

You know your 9 months pregnant when.....

Just for fun ;)

- people no longer feel the need to say hello to you, they just say, "your about to POP when are you due!?!"

- people at work ask how much longer you will be there, like you have a plan for this sort of thing

- You cant put on your underware or bottoms anymore with out nearly falling over

- getting out of bed to pee in the middle of the night looks like you are gearing up to compete in the Olympics

- when you finally swing your legs around to get out of bed the dog JUMPS up at the near sight of your feet with so much fear that the "forever growing mommy" is going to step on you.

- You never knew making it through an 8-9 hour work day would be this. incredibly. hard.

- The jabs and kicks (which are still the BEST!) now stop you in your tracks and you can literally SEE him poking out!

- Appetite is gone! Food, is food.... pre pregnancy=food fanatic, during pregnancy=couldn't get enough and what better excuse!
9 months= if I eat one more thing I think my stomach my literally explode

- The seasons are changing but your clothing is not. Now that it is getting cooler out, I have nothing to wear, ALL my pregnancy clothes are for HOT HOT summer.
Last night I was sporting a long sleeved Remington (hunting brand) shirt.... classy.

- People ask you if you can fit in booths at restaurants
- People ask you if you need help when you have like ONE bag at the store (not complaining)
- People ask you if there's two in there
- People ask you if your ready. -this to me is hilarious, ready or not...!
- Random people ask if you are dilated, I do not mind when friends or family asks that is completely normal and I love to tell them everything, but I had a random (male) co worker ask me the other day if I was dilated or softened at all, I thought this was a little odd.

- Sex to bring on labor.... wait, what, how in the heck....?

- every time you feel a pain, twinge, or ANY thing you wonder if this. is. it?

I feel so blessed to be nine months pregnant and I cannot wait to meet my son! But this ninth month definitely comes with a few new challenges, cant wait to look back and laugh at these things!

37 weeks, photos, and full term baby!

Sweet profile, eyes, nose, and cute mouth... he was practicing his sucking motions!Adorable face, one hand is covering up the chubby cheekers!
37 Week Baby William Wilson belly!Top two cravings have definitely been cereal and ice cream (Oberweis YUM!)

Happy Mommy to be at 37 weeks.

37 weeks: Baby's now the size of a watermelon!Your full-term (yay!) baby is gaining about 1/2 ounce a day and getting his first sticky poop (called meconium) ready. He's also brushing up on skills for the outside world: blinking, sucking, inhaling, exhaling, and gripping (it's getting strong!).

We are there, baby is a watermelon and cant get too much bigger these days! The whole pregnancy you read about your baby and hear about how they are a blueberry, a kiwi, or some fruit you don't know what it is but this week my friends we made it to watermelon status!
Went to the doctor today, not dilated... ohh well. She was running an hour behind so that put a damper on my plans of running up there during my lunch time. So once I had her I kept her and chatted for a while about the big day, glad we are on the same page about everything, makes me feel prepared and good. I have been right on my measurements but last week I was still at 35 cm and this week went down to 34 cm she said she wanted an ultrasound done right away, everything should be fine and could just be his position or something but wanted to check the amionic fluid etc... The ultrasound tech could squeeze me in in an hour. Down to lovely St Johns cafeteria I went, my thoughts of going back to work to continue a busy day drifting away.
The ultra sound went fine and baby, myself, and amniotic fluid are all measuring good, she said there are lots of things that could play into why I am measuring small but it is nothing to worry about. But I got to see William again, he is getting so big! I saw his sweet face, his fat little cheeks, and once I started laughing (did this to keep from getting teared up I'm sure) at his face, he put his little arm right over it and wouldn't move, he said "shows over folks!"
I cant wait to meet him for real in just 3... 4 weeks tops countdowns on!

Labor Day?!?!?

Well I guess my type A personality and calender conscious mind did not obey the holiday, We had a labor day weekend spent relaxing, cleaning, and visiting but no baby. I was not expecting to go into labor and hope that baby Will will stay in till 39 or 40 weeks, but as I spent some time with my mom Saturday she sure was hoping I would go into labor. It was so cute she kept asking how I was feeling and if I was okay. She has this fear that in the excitement, Luke and I will forget to call, unfortunately from what I hear labor is a long process and I think we will have plenty of time to make a few phone calls.

Got to see Bennett for a bit on Saturday, one of his favorite things to do is eat olives, usually they are cut up and he loves to stick his finger in them, Crystal and I decided it would be a good idea to not cut them and put them on all five of his little fingers, too cute!

Ignore my "crabby" face in this picture, bad moms dog baby girl was napping on top of the belly for a long time and we were trying to get a picture of it. It was SO nice out this weekend we even got to wear sweatshirts, this is by far my favorite time of the year, and I am so glad little Will's birthday is going to be around now and he will be able to enjoy it every year! It was 75- 80's all weekend with a breeze and sunshine, perfect!

After a weekend of playing catch up with the house, running errands, spending time with family, having some friends over, and windows open all weekend to enjoy the fresh Monday afternoon, everyone in the house was pooped and some much needed naps were taken!

I have had some more of the cramping on and off all weekend, some sharper than others, and some accompanied with the very tight tummy feeling. I will mention to the doc tomorrow but all seems to be staying right on track.

Doctor visit 36 weeks

Yesterday at the doctor after a LONG wait and a little complaining by me I went in to see the nurse practitioner, I don't really care because they don't do too much at these appointments anyway! I have gained about one pound since last week (last appt) and all is normal, (I am a boring patient as usual) William is such a good boy and head down, and getting settled into my pelvis, they know this because I was 35.5 cm last week which means I should be about 36 or 36.5 this week and I was 35, so he is getting down there!
This exam hurt a lot more than the last one and I am still not dilated, but well on my way! Cervix is soft, which means it is getting ready to start dilating. I think I may have had some random contractions which she said will help get things moving along.

Went to dinner at cheesecake factory afterwards with Meghan and Michelle, food was great, cheesecake was better, and the best of course great conversation with my favorite girls!

Looking forward to a three day weekend!
