Fun Weekend, Great Friends!

Such a pretty winery overlooking the Missouri river

A Gorialla friend we met! It was his birthday.

A great kick off to Summer... Hopefully aside from being busy every weekend this summer I can get down to Columbia for many more fun times and visits with the Hayes & friends!

Wordless Wednesday....

On a happier note.....!

Hello Reality...

Just when things are all going great I feel like God puts things in perspective a little... Sunday after I got home from a fun weekend with friends (will post pics soon) Luke started telling me a couple stories, within a couple minutes I found out about 3 people that died that weekend. Luckily it was no one Luke and I were close with but, for 3 people in his family it was a very hard weekend.

Then yesterday I got a phone call that an old friend of mine had also passed away.

I don't want to talk about any of this too much for the sake of the people involved. But I did want to post and just say that if you know of anyone taking the drug Chantex PLEASE have them stop immediately, this caused the death of a great family man.

It definitely puts things into perspective and makes me want to...
1. Just be more careful in general, I think I am invincible sometimes...

2. Always say I love you and never leave on bad terms

3. And not take things for granted the little things like great family and friends that loves me...

I promise back onto happier posts soon, but I felt I had to share a little of what was going on.

http://www.mamacheaps.com/2009/05/multi-tasking-gone-wrong.html

When taking on so many of life's obstacles it is easy to get side tracked, especially from the hours of about 5-7 This is usually my time at home alone that you would think would be spend relaxing, nope most days I am trying to accomplish 15 tasks at once, for the good reason so that when Luke gets home dinner is started and we can relax together... My friends will agree I do enjoy keeping myself busy.....
....But today while getting ready I accidentally put my conditioner all over my face instead of my moisturizer! OPPS, good thing I am getting out of town for a couple days this weekend!

Technology Here we come!

I feel like Luke and I have hid out from all the new technology for as long as we could! Neither of us text, at first we didn't like it, but now we just don't because it is not on our phone plan, I still have an old school flip phone, ha! And we have yet to discover the world of recording/pausing live TV!

Well... I just got off the phone with Charter and they are coming Saturday to bring us our new HD/DVR box! And our T Mobile plan is up in the beginning of June, so I will get a new phone and we will both hopefully have a text plan then!

YAY!

Torn....

This is only my second season watching idol, and I'm not gonna lie I have probably missed 1/2 of them this season, BUT I really like Kris from the start I think he is cute, a great singer, and I think he would do well with the coming fame. I guess with my idol crush I have yet to find out till today that he is married!!! How is he going to be this heart throb of a performer with his lil wife tagging along everywhere....
Adam: I don't know why but he really gets on my nerves, maybe it is because he butchered one of my favorites Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash...sad song, but we even played it in the bus on my wedding day! Or maybe it is because of the massive amounts of make up... scares me a little!

Bottom Line they are both good singers!

Who do you want to win?

Every little bit counts....

Race for the Cure

Luke and I have been looking for a 5K to do for a month or so... Finally someone took the initiative, one of my girlfriends is getting a team together for the Susan Komen Race for the Cure! I have never done it and I am really excited, I think St. Louis holds one of the biggest ones! Now the real question.... do I really have to run the entire time? THIS could pose a problem ;)

A fun Texas weekend!

Three SUPER fun couples at Joe T Garcia's

Rachel and I: I was trying to figure out if I would cheat on Budweiser and go with the Miller crowd!

Luke, John, Rachel and I outside of Babe's!

Luke and I left for Texas Thursday afternoon, When his family moved to St Louis from Kansas they moved across the street from the Burrows, they became great family friends, then the Burrows moved to Texas with Luke and John were freshman in high school. By a little reconnecting via Luke's 6 month fishing job and myspace we decided to go visit them 2 years ago when John was gradating with his MBA... They came in town for all of our wedding events and it was time for us to go back!

It was a great trip, they introduced us to Babe's a BYOB Home cookin fried chicken place built in like 1903.... it was amazing! We also went to Joe T's a really fun Mexican place that sits about 1600 mostly outside! It was authentic with margaritas and mariachi bands!

The Burrow's completely spoiled us, with their amazing pool and home, and fun plans the entire time.... It was such a fun weekend and a great little vacation!

#4 My 25th Birthday

Well it has come and gone! It was a good day, although it started with me examining my newly found friends in the mirror... my 5 little grey hairs. I have been noticing these more and more now that I do not get my hair dyed, I used to get it dyed every 3 months for ummm that past 5 years. Ohh well they are not too bad yet!
My dad brought in a cake to work with pink icing, and last night we went out to dinner with my parents and my grandparents that live in town, we went to one of my favorite places Stir Crazy, where you pick all your veggies, sauces, and meat and they stir fry it all up for you.
Boomer got me some pretty flowers ;) and Luke got me a gift card to my favorite spa, I have been in need of a massage so I am excited to use it!
It was a great low key day!
