A HUGE Congratulations!

"Practice" Cutting their engagement cake

My best girlfriends! Meghan, me, Leslie "bride to be," Lauren & Michelle

Me with the Bride... and Groom!

The amazing proposal, does this picture not just capture everything... love, St. Louis, happiness, and most of all, the start to an amazing future!

They did it, two of my very best friends got engaged, Jim proposed to Leslie! I have waited to blog about this because I wanted to have time to actually do them justice, and tell their story.
Jim and Leslie are an amazing couple who are just meant to be! We all met in college, Jim and I were best buds from the get go, we met in my dorm room one night. He was in there with some friends hanging out with my roommate, I must of been tired and maybe had too much to drink when I decided I was going to give Jim a hard time, we have been BFF's ever since this meeting! In college we hung out all the time, making lunchboxes, (our special drink concoction) working together at the UClub, going shopping, and going to the "beach" near my moms. Leslie is a year younger than us and while out at a party I had the pleasure of meeting her and told her I was goon to introduce her to some of my friends. Jim and Leslie soon after started dating and started their 6 year relationship! My girlfriends and I were a little threatened by Leslie at first, scared that since Jim now had a girlfriend he would forget about us... Silly girls, this was not the case at all, instead we all grew into an amazing friendship with Leslie, that I have to say... JIM feels pretty threatened about these days. He gets so jealous that I call Leslie instead of him, but lets face it there are just somethings only a girl will understand.
After 6 years of dating, Jim was ready, he was just ready, he didn't think he would be, not till 30, or not till they get to move back to St Louis (they currently live in Arkansas but are trying to get back) but he was ready, so off we went one Saturday and picked out the amazing ring for Ms. Leslie, This was a big task for me, I don't know how to pick out an engagement ring! But luckily I think we did a pretty great job!
Jim proposed to Leslie in St Louis because it is a place that is very special to them, and it could not of went any better. He did a great job getting it all together and keeping a secret from his Mrs! After their special proposal I had gotten lots of our family and friends together to celebrate the special occasion, it was a perfect night and the beginning of a perfect life for two of my best friends and one amazing couple!
Congratulations Jim and Les, we have a super fun year ahead and we all could not be any happier for the two of you!
Leslie- I hope it was worth the wait.... ;)

18 weeks

Baby's now the size of a sweet potato! Baby's become amazingly mobile (compared to you, at least), passing the hours yawning, hiccupping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing, and baby is finally big enough that you'll soon be able to feel her movements.
--I ALREADY do and I love it, now hoping Luke can catch a feel soon!

As your growing uterus starts shifting your center of gravity (belly forward, bottom out), hormones are causing your ligaments to relax and joints to loosen. The result? Back pain and soreness. On the bright side, if you want to know baby's gender, this might be your first week for a sneak peek.
--Unfortunately not for two more weeks... and that is not the ONLY thing my hormones are messing with ;)

Current Cravings

Thought I would do a post to keep track of Baby Wilson's top 10 favorite foods!
1. Breakfast foods
- Pancakes
- Cereal, the unhealthier the better!
2. Dr. Pepper
3. Bacon
4. Ice cream and any ice creamery treats
5. Chocolate Milk
6. Pizza, preferably greasy unhealthy pizza
7. Toasted Ravioli
8. Toasted cheese sticks
9. Salty french fries
10. Popsicles -raspberry

The boys were off hunting this past weekend and I made myself this ultimate fruity waffle concoction for dinner Saturday night. Here is a picture of it! Special trip to the store during the scary St. Louis storms to get this fruit, can we say craving!?!

So do I have your mouth watering yet with all this talk of food?

Now, the important question....What's for dinner!

A lil Q & A

A fellow blogger did a little question and answer session on her blog and it turned out super cute, so I thought I would do the same thing.
As you know I am an open book so feel free to ask me anything!

To get you going here is a question one of my friends recently asked me.

Leslie- "Are you going to tell people the name of the baby or keep it a secret?"

Answer- I would LOVE to keep it a secret. Since we are finding out the sex I feel like it is something special to reveal on baby's birthday, but we are having a really hard time picking and narrowing down, so we may have to just decide once we meet baby Wilson! Which makes it hard to keep some of our choices quiet and not get opinions on them. However based on some opinions we got from one of my grandmas... things are staying "hush hush" for quite sometime!

17 weeks and great news

17 weeks- Baby's now the size of an onion!Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.
-Hopefully baby Wilson never has to USE these fingerprints!
Starting to feel a bit off balance? As your belly grows, your center of gravity changes, so you may begin to occasionally feel a little unsteady on your feet. Try to avoid situations with a high risk of falling. Wear low-heeled shoes to reduce your risk of taking a tumble.
-Ha! no thanks, I am still liking my heely heels!

I opted to do the optional triple screen test, this is a blood test that checks for signs of downs, and some other birth defects. Insurance covered it 100% so I figured why not, the nurse just called and all 3 tests came back negative! This is super good news!!!! The scary thing about these tests is that they can give you false positives but usually the negatives are pretty accurate, ya-hooo baby Wilson keep up the great work!

Another person to keep up the great work these days is Luker! He is once AGAIN the top closer for Citi for St. Louis! Way to go babe, I am so extremely proud of you... again!

Shopping with Mom

Mom and I made the mistake of filling our little piggy bellies BEFORE we went crib shopping Saturday, so when we went to try out the gliders it was all downhill! We sat and glided and chatted for so long I thought the sales people might have to ask us to get up! ha!
side note- the one my mom is stilling in here you cant really see but they are the MOST comfortable thing in the entire world, If we get this one I will just sleep in babies room with baby because this thing will be my new bed!
Mom and I finally managed to pull out butts out of the gliders and make our way to the (small) maternity clothing section at babies r us. While we were looking on separate racks we both turned around at the SAME time and said look at these cute shorts, I HAD to take a picture, look at the difference in the shorts, can you say generation gap?!?
Not sure if I should say this on here or not, but her next sentence was: "Ashley! Those are going to go up your crotch!!!"
Sorry for TMI, but I thought this was hilarious!
Same fun shopping day also had some fun in the dressing room with mom...
YES I got stuck in a nursing shirt, NO I don't want to talk about it, YES I will never be wearing one because I think I am now scarred for life!!!!.... hee hee hee!

It's all about the... BAG!

Anyone who knows me knows I am pretty much obsessed with purses and handbags! Friday night all my closest girlfriends went over to our friend Michelle's for a little dinner and girl talk night. Michelle our master cakester made me this adorable little cake, a purse! Complete with licorice handle and gumdrop closures!
Thanks Michelle, what a great night!

TRYING to be fit!

Saturday morning I had my first prenatal yoga class, I signed up for a 6 week series here: and if I feel up to it when this series is over I will do another 6.
It was great, very relaxing and it will hopefully help my back, (I have a horrible back) which has already started to ache. The instructor was very accommodating and always asked us all how "baby" was doing, every position supported baby but also helped the body to stretch and prepare for the task of labor... ugh!
I am going to try to work out 5 times a week no matter what it is, 5 times I can do that right?

It has begun....

I think we've found the CRIB! I am so excited about it but also a little overwhelmed I feel like once this is official, the planning, buying, and decorating will not stop for the next 5 months!
But I LOVE it! It is adorable and exactly what I was looking for, it is a convertible that will make into a full size bed eventually, and we decided to go with white, we already have a dresser and chest of drawers to use that is white so why not.
The sales guy informed my mom and I that if we wait and buy something small we will score a 20% off coupon good for next weekend so we both checked out separately and got one and will go back to buy the bed.
Now I am trying to figure out if I want to go ahead and get one of our other 3 big ticket items with my coupon or wait...

I'm in love!

Yes with Baby Wilson, yes with Mr. Wilson... but ALSO with my new IPHONE!
Luke got me an itouch for our anniversary, but I decided to upgrade my phone instead to have all devices in ONE. I must say I have never been so completely in love with a phone before! It does everything, it is my phone for talking and texting, my email accounts, my ipod (which is on its last leg!) my mapquest, my weather channel, the list goes on and on. But the cool thing is all the apps you can download to make your phone completely personalized to you, I haven't gone too crazy yet but I do have some neat ones, a pregnancy one that give you daily updates and tips, a sports one for Luke of course, some work out ones, a recipe one that tells you what to make for any occasion and tons more!

3rd prenatal appt

Yesterday was my 16 week Prenatal appointment. I was really looking forward to hearing the baby's heartbeat again and learning some things from my last appointment.

Writing this post also reminds me of how glad I am to keep the blog, this is a great way to look back in the future and in other pregnancies to see how my body reacted.

Weight: Yesterday at 16 weeks and 2 days I was .2 ounces LESS that what I weighed at my 12 week appointment 4 weeks prior! (Noticing how I am dancing around not saying what this # is ;) I was a little nervous at first but the doctor said it is nothing to worry about, could have to do with the fact that I've been sick but she just kept telling me to enjoy it now because soon I will GAIN. So for those keeping track (me!) total weight gain in 16 weeks is about 1/2-1 pound.
Funny to me that I have this cute little poochy hanging out yet it doesn't weigh anything!
News: I have been starting to feel little flutters, they are so cute and unexpected it is like a nice little reminder of baby Wilson telling me everything is A-Ok and to stop worrying. I have been having trouble sleeping with still not feeling 100% and some changes at home so I started feeling them when I would lay in bed still and quiet in the middle of the night, however yesterday morning baby was having quite the little party, getting ready for it's appearance at the doctor I suppose, I emailed Luke right away and told him that the baby said "hi!" What a fun exciting new thing to look forward to!
So off with my active belly I went to the doctor and when she went to listen to the heartbeat she found the same exact thing, baby was swimming and moving all over the place, wouldn't stay still long enough to give us a good listen, but we got a little listen and at 156 bpm we are both doing wonderful!
Luke and I both have pretty BIG personalities and rarly do you see us sit down and relax, so what do you think are we going to have a "wild child" as well??

I cant believe that next time I go to the doctor it will be with Luke and some family to see if B Dub is a boy or a girl, Ekkk.... 3 weeks from Tuesday!!!!!!!

16 Weeks!

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado (yummy!) : 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. Watch what you say...tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean she can now pick up your voice. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

15 1/2 weeks, a "cuter" picture :)

Happy Anniversary!

Also, happy OPENING DAY Cards! Hope our Anniversary brings you some good luck!

Two years ago today, I was finishing up my hair appointment, getting my makeup done, hanging out with my favorite girls, and getting ready to marry my prince charming!
Our wedding day was the best day of my life and it was the day that truly all of my dreams came true. It has been a wild ride these past two years, but I have to say I could not be any happier today or change one single thing about our life together... ok ok maybe if I had it my way we would of won the lottery by now, or something like that ;)
But really I do feel very blessed that all of our dreams are coming true right before our eyes... or belly!
Happy Anniversary babe, I love you.

Some Perks

It got me! Some sort of bug... UGH! I usually get strept throat once a year and I thought I had made it this year without, but I thought too soon.
When I called the OB nurse she said they would rather me try and treat myself naturally without any medication... Hummm, are you kidding?
Natural remedies didn't work and they ended up calling me in a prescription. I am no doctor but isn't it healthier for baby to make sure Mama gets better asap?
On top of that I have pretty bad Spring allergies and don't feel comfortable putting all of this medicine in me at once preggers... Since there is not much you can take when you are pregnant it has left me feeling pretty crappy so I thought I would do a post of some perks!

  • You get to pick out your favorite color of the jellybeans, this left us with a big bag of purple, green, and yellow, ha!
  • You ALWAYS get to pick the restaurant, no matter if it is just hubby and I or whomever they always ask what the baby wants to eat
  • Tired is not only a common symptom it is also a good excuse to use for a lot of things, cleaning, staying out and going to "the next place," the list goes on!
  • Though it may be small so far you get a new wardrobe :)
  • The pudge hanging over your jeans is not because you had too much pizza, and there is nothing you can do about the pudge for 7-8 more months, yay
  • O'douls Amber, I couldn't find much I liked to drink besides water but these are pretty good!
  • People are always exited to see you and your bump and always ask how you are feeling, which is nice
  • Whether pizza, McDonald's, or cereal you always get to choose dinner and if it sounds good to you and you'll eat it, no questions asked!
  • Ice Cream... Nuff' said

Bumpity Bumpity

15 Weeks
Okay, so I HATE these pictures, I am blaming it on the photographer ;) Even though I did walk Boomer and it was like 85 out; Someday soon I will have to actually take some where I am looking normal and cute... maybe on a weekend!

Before B Dub

View from the corner of the room, out his door you can see the door to our room, nice and close.

View from the door to the room

Another view from the door into the room.

Hats off to real estate agents, taking "room" pics is hard.

I thought I would do some before shots of Baby Wilson's nursery since in 5 more weeks we will find out what is cookin' inside Mama Wilson (don't forget to vote on the poll above!) I know once we find out what we are having it wont be long till I want to start "construction!" The room was a little boy's room from the last owners, we will still change a lot but if we have a boy we could maybe keep some of the paint. I have already started "picking" at the sailboat border ;)

We have lots of furniture to get rid of in this room, since we have not done much with it, it has been our "throw it in there" room if we don't know what to do with something. So far I have sold the desk and couch on Craigslist (I am in love with Craigslist) but we still have a long way to go!

15 Weeks

Your baby is growing at an amazing rate and looking more like a human every day. Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now out measure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements. If you have an ultrasound at this point, you might be able to see your baby sucking its thumb!

Your gums may be red and swollen (thanks, hormones), so it's extra-important to take good care of your mouth right now. Brush often, floss gently, and see your dentist if you haven't already. Also, your now-cramped chest and abdomen (baby's growing fast!) might be making you a little short of breath.

My gums are fine, but I am definitely starting to notice some shortness of breath! Having a great time in the 2nd trimester and loving this Spring weather, thank goodness my allergies haven't been too bad yet, going to get some advice on some medication next week fro the doctor in case they get bad.

There are so many things that come along with pregnancy and newborns, and of course being the organized (ok obsessed) person that I am I have already began to think about the many many to do's of it all! So I thought I would keep an on going list and check off as it is complete!

Want to get away? Plan a babymoon! Since we just went in November, no babymoon for us.
Take baby's first picture—the ultrasound! We have two pictures of our little sweetie
Find a sleep set up that's comfortable and interpret wild pregnancy dreams. Side sleep is most comfortable for me, and there is NO interpreting my dreams they are wild!
If you're RH negative, it's time to ask your doctor about a RhoGam shot. I have not heard anything on this so I guess I am good.
Take pictures of your growing belly. More pictures to come soon!
Help him be a better dad—look into parenting classes for him. He will just go to the classes with me.

So we are not even in the fourth month yet and already I feel pretty good about everything!

Happy Easter

Just wanted to wish everyone a quick "Happy Easter!"
We have had a really great weekend. We saw Luke's dad and step mom for dinner Friday night and had his mom, brother, sister in law, and niece over Saturday for brunch...Luke was insistent on hiding some eggs for Peyton, I am glad we did she was so cute looking for them!
Last night we went out and caught up with some friends we hadn't seen in a while. Everyone is really starting to notice the baby bump and I got a, "Your going to be HUGE" from one of Luke's friends... Ha!.... Thanks.
Today we are going to go to church then headed over to my sisters to hang out with the family and watch Bennett hunt for some eggs.
The weather has been so great this weekend and we have really enjoyed catching up with everyone on a relaxing Easter weekend!
