How I told...

I found out I was expecting on a Wednesday right after work, after freaking out from excitement for a minute and a long phone call to a friend confirming what I saw was indeed correct I began to think about how to tell Luke, I had thought up a few situations in my head but decided to let Boomer do the talking, he is our first born! ;) So I quickly made him this shirt, then I decided I would need to get this memory on film! But Luke would know something right away if I was standing there with a video camera when he walked in the door so I strategically placed it hidden and had some mail for him to look at on our kitchen table. I will have to post this video, cute! Luke was very excited and mostly speechless but I don't think I will ever forget that amazing look in his face, happy and scared shitless!

My girlfriends and I had plans to go to the Melting Pot (one of our FAVORITE restaurants) for a girls night out so it only seemed appropriate to tell them all there, together and all in person. I had cards made up with Boomers picture that said "mommy and daddy are excited because I'm going to be a big brother, Baby Wilson coming Sept 2010" They all opened them together and there were screams, tears, and cheers! It was such a fun memorable night!

It was so tough to keep this from my family, especially my mom, she is one of my best friends and I tell her EVERYTHING! We were going to dinner for my moms birthday and I knew I would have to tell them then, my mom had already been with me and I opted out of the usual glass of wine so I knew she would get the hint if I was not drinking on her birthday. We were on the phone for a long time the day before dinner and I just couldn't keep it in any longer I blurted it out! She was thrilled, the next night I told the rest of them. My sister could not be happier, her little boy turns one this Friday! I had them all open appropriate clothing, my dad was confused at first, I think he thought his was for Bennett!

  2. ...AND the "long distance cheers" picture mail (our weekly tradition) we recieved of you holding a non-alcoholic drink instead of the usual adult beverage to your away-from-home friends ;-)
