I am at the magic 35-35!
Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
Your uterus — which was entirely tucked away inside your pelvis when you conceived — now reaches up under your rib cage. If you could peek inside your womb, you'd see that there's more baby than amniotic fluid in there now. Your ballooning uterus is crowding your other internal organs, too, which is why you probably have to urinate more often and may be dealing with heartburn and other gastrointestinal distress.
I had my first weekly internal exam yesterday, I had been feeling nauseous but didn't think much of it till I was sprinting to the bathroom at work, I am not going to go into detail but it was NOT pretty, it was actually one of the most disgusting things ever. I called the doc to try and reschedule so I could just go home, I seriously needed to brush my teeth and lay down. Being sick is never fun but especially when you have a huge stomach, are at work, and it is hot out.
The scheduling just didn't seem to work so into the doctor I went, they were very nice and got me in and out right away, offered me mints etc. The doctor thinks the prenatals are just getting too strong for me, I am going to try taking them at dinner or at bedtime, she also suggested Pepcid because with how high up he is all the acid could be making me sick, or she said I can stop taking them all together and take Flintstones instead, but she does not like that I am getting sick, it is not good for Will or I.
She did my culture for the Group B strep test, then the exam. My cervix is still closed, I asked her when it would open, and of course she does not know. But she did say it is soft and making progress and if she had to give me an educated guess she said I would go ON MY OWN, right around 40 weeks or a little before. Not sure how good this guess is but it gave me something to think about for a week till the next appointment!
I am trying to be extremely healthy, because I was not too healthy over the weekend and now I think that may be contributing to the sickness. Also the doctor said once again, NO sodium, this is mainly because of the feet and hands. She wanted me to go see a hand specialist but I told her I wanted to wait, she bargained with me but said if any pains throughout the day I need to go.
This Friday is my dads birthday and exactly one month till my due date, and next appt is Wed the 1st!
